Travel to Antwerp
By plane
- Brussels Airport (Zaventem) (45km or +/- 30 minutes drive from Antwerp)
You can reach Antwerp in approximately 30 minutes from the Belgian National Airport of Zaventem. There is a train station (‘Brussel-Nationaal-Luchthaven’) underneath the airport with a direct connection to ‘Antwerpen-Centraal’ railway station (duration +/- 30 minutes, cost ~10 EUR). There is also a direct bus to Antwerp city center, called Airport Express (+/- 45 minutes ride, cost 10 EUR). Taxis are also available at the airport (cost ~60 EUR, depending on traffic).
- (Brussels South) Charleroi Airport (92 km or +/- 1h10 drive from Antwerp)
Brussels South airport serves most of the low-cost European airlines. There are shuttle busses travelling between Charleroi Airport and Antwerp. You can also take a bus to the capital (Brussels), where frequent train connections can bring you to Antwerp. A ticket that combines the bus and train services can be purchased at the Airport Ticket Desk (22 EUR one way). Combining bus and train will take you about 2 hours to get to Antwerp.
- Antwerp International Airport (4 km south-east from the city center)
Antwerp International Airport increases its importance by the day. Originally a cargo airport, it nowadays transports over 300.000 passengers per year, with about 20 European destinations. The city center can be reached from the airport by public transport or taxi.
- Schiphol Airport Amsterdam (165 km or +/- 2h10 drive from Antwerp)
You can reach Antwerp in approximately 2 hours from the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. There is a train station underneath the airport with a direct connection to ‘Antwerpen-Centraal’ railway station. KLM airline offers combined flight-train tickets to Antwerp.
- Charles De Gaulle Airport Paris (320 km or +/- 3h10 drive from Antwerp)
You can reach Antwerp in approximately 2 hours from the Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris, with a high-speed train connection. There is a train station underneath the airport with a direct connection to ‘Antwerpen-Centraal’ railway station, or with one change in Brussels. Air France airline offers combined flight-train tickets to Antwerp.
By train
‘Antwerpen-Centraal’ station is easy to reach by train from all Belgian and European cities and is only 30 minutes from Brussels South Station. After arriving in ‘Antwerpen-Centraal’ station, the conference venue is a 10 min. stroll away, via the main shopping street ‘Meir’.
By bus
Antwerp city center is very well connected with various European destinations, at a rather inexpensive price. Please consult, for example, Eurolines and FlixBus.
By car
Driving into the center of the city of Antwerp can be hard, especially in the rush hour. It is advised to leave the ring road in the north of Antwerp (follow Centrum-Noord) and park in one of the various car parks along the way to the city center. Park&ride options exist as well at the outskirts of the city. In the city center, Q-Park Antwerpen Shopping Meir in the Korte Klarenstraat is the closest one to the conference venue. Street parking is scarce in the center of the city, and limited to 1h at a time.
